She has skin allergies and needs things very clean, litter with no scent, and can only eat freeze dried chicken. This litter box is "IDEAL". It does not stain, it does not hold odors, it is easy to clean thoroughly. Where have you been all my life? All cats have a sense of smell much better than ours. Unlike plastic, stainles steel retains no smell like plastic does. Not only that, it is easy to clean as the litter does not stick. The steel is thick, which makes it heavy. No way the cat can move it unintentionally. The high attachment keeps the litter inside when your cat is covering up his business. It is like a sandbox for him, I think. And no problem for you with litter scattered everywhere. There are two drawbacks. First is that it is small. You must have a small cat or kitten to use this size. The second drawback is it is scratch resistant. That means that if you use a metal litter scoop, it can scratch it, and then it will rust in the crack. But if you use a plastick scoop, there is no problem. I highly recommend this 17" size for small cats.

This stainless steel litter box looks pretty nice. The plastic top pops on and off easily. It’s not a very heavy box, a little thin. But when it is full with the litter, it feels sturdy. The attachable plastic side is very helpful to keep cats from poop/peeing on the top or side of the box. They can’t scratch into it like the plastic box, so that should keep it fresher and cleaner. The front of the hood has grates in the plastic step over ledge which is supposed to catch some litter off their paws as they exit the box.
